Dear God,
Today a friend of mine asked a deep quequestion to the public but honestly I felt confronted... she asked " Do you live with Jesus or do you live for Him?"
I honestly was like ".... well i live with Him but for Him."
1 John 4:9 KJV-
"9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him"
Before I go on, i have to say. The spanish translation says "so we live for him" Which makes the question deeper and more related to the scripture. Most of the english translations don't say that exactly.
Anyway... as i'm thinking to myself. What does it mean to live with Him ? To me it means live the life I want while believing God is making it all possible. The next question, what does it mean to live for Him? Not my Will. Thy Will be done. Not what I want for my life but what you want for it. So not to get fixated on my plans and my wants. Make sure to share the gospel, and live with love. Because God is love.
Back to the original confronting question. I still feel like I live for Jesus and with him. I would like to truly believe that I live for him in almost everything I do. Admittingly enough, there are times my emotions get the best of me and I allow others actions get to me and bother me. Holding myself accountable, I recognize it and really try to correct myself. The second part of my answer. I know and have heard many sermons talk about how "God wants a relationship with us." Coincidentally .... maybe not so much. I heard a pastor today preach about Prayer being a safe place to start (that was the title of the sermon). He mentions how God will be at the door and knock ...(the verse Revelation 3:20) "20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
The takeaway from said sermon, is that You, God are our Heavenly Father who doesn't care about all our baggage, in the moment of prayer all You care about is us. In addition to this sermon I have heard in having a relationship with You we don't only have to be with you in prayer, in devotional time. You can and are with us in every moment of our day.
SO yes. I honestly don't know if my final answer is correct for anyone. All I care about is if its correct with you and your word. I do live with You and For You My Lord.
I am your servant. Thy WILL not mine Lord.
I love you so much God. Thank you for Your messages, for the way you set things up for me to come to realizations like this one.
